multi-project is a mandatory project of the third year in Eindhoven University of Technology, and it is done in a multidisciplinary team of six people.
this project envisions the creation of a dynamic and inclusive community hub, fostering a strong sense of belonging through shared experiences and collective resilience. guided by principles of social cohesion, climate neutrality, and nature integration, the initiative blends modern urban living with the preservation of VB building’s rich memorial legacy, which serves as both a symbol and centerpiece of the development.
housing:
housing typologies - including family houses, apartments for singles, couples, families, and social housing - are thoughtfully designed to integrate seamlessly into the existing neighborhood fabric, promoting harmonious coexistence and enhancing the area’s character. Public functions within the VB plinth, along with a pavilion café that acts as a back entrance and welcoming invitation, enrich community connectivity and vibrancy.
sustainability goals:
Energy neutrality is a key goal, achieved through optimized building designs and the integration of renewable energy solutions. Solar panels are thoughtfully placed on every roof and integrated into parts of the VB facade, maximizing energy efficiency while complementing the aesthetic of the development. Additionally, an innovative outdoor parking concept, designed with a nature-inspired approach, merges practicality with lush green design, preserving the inviting and harmonious atmosphere of the site. Together, these elements form an urban revitalization model that inspires cultural vibrancy, ecological harmony, and a resilient, sustainable future.
